Megan Moore

My work is an aggressive counter to feminine ideals presented within media and consumer culture. I use fruit, flowers, and meat as representations of the body as both an idealized object, and a grotesque object. The tension between the beautiful and grotesque further questions the reality of the way in which we consume feminine bodies, only after they have been distorted and mutilated to fit into violent and unrealistic standards.
